    hello

    I am a new user but am having constant problems with the above.  Almost every time I try to do something, I get the above notice, even if I haven’t opened the file, which then prevents axcrypt working on the fily.

    For instance, just now I have 3 encrypted files I wish to decrypt.  I viewed one of them, but not the other 2, but it is generating the above message and so will not de-crypt them.  I have tried closing file explorer and opening it again, but this does not help.  This is totally putting me off using the software as I fear if I encrypt all my files I will never be able to de-crypt them again.

    Any advice?

    Hello Anonymous,

    Please delete the folder( %LocalAppData%\AxCrypt(C:\Users\’User Name’\AppData\Local\AxCrypt) to clear the local cache and starts the AxCrypt app like a new.

    Then uninstall the AxCrypt app and install the latest version of the AxCrypt app. You can download the same from our official website: https://forum.axcrypt.net/download/ .

    Now install the AxCrypt app and try to start AxCrypting……

    Please explain what kind of file type do you encrypt? Are you getting any exceptions or error messages while using the AxCrypt app? If yes, what type of exception or error message you are getting? Please share the details of that exception or error message. If you can send a screenshot showing where the problem is, it often helps us understand.

    If the above does not help, please send the complete error report with some screenshots of the exceptions, so that we will try to troubleshoot the same as soon as possible.
